My Family

I once read in a book about a mother who wanted to make these super fancy meals; meals that I can't even pronounce let alone have a single clue as to what they could be. Once she had children she quickly realized to her dismay that she would have to stick with mac and cheese for the time being. Well, my children are the exact opposite. I would be more than happy with giving them mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dogs - you know, all the foods that most children love; something simple so that when all else fails, I know I have one thing I can feed them that they'll eat. Anyway, my children won't touch that food! I wish I could be the mom that could make a big pot of mac and cheese and know that her child would eat it. Instead, I'm left making all these complicated foods in order to get my children to eat anything! Did you ever meet a child who didn't like pizza?? Well, let me introduce you to......

Maylee

And what about a child who doesn't like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Let me introduce you to.......

Dalton

And finally, have you ever met a child who doesn't like mac and cheese? Let me introduce you to.......

Eleanor

And to be fair, Daniel and I can be kinda picky, too...maybe not Dalton, Maylee, and Eleanor picky (who doesn't like pizza??) but we can definitely have our moments.

So, I have to be creative when coming up with meals. For example, Dalton doesn't like soup but the rest of our family loves it. Dalton does like pasta, so what I'll do is make my normal soup and use an immersion blender to get rid of any big chunks. I'll make some pasta and pour soup over the pasta. He loves it! A lot of the times, I can get my children to eat something if I can present it in a different way.

Throughout this blog, you'll see the kind of meals we have everyday!

Happy Eating!
