Bacon and Broccoli Alfredo

This was a delicious meal! Daniel and I loved it. The children liked it as well but were a little freaked out by the seasonings in it. So, if you have children that are picky about that stuff, I would just leave those out. But, they each ate one serving plus their sides so I'd say tonight's dinner was a success!

This is an easy one-pot meal that is done in 30 minutes!

I put a tablespoon of oil in a big pan along with 2 teaspoons of garlic. Once the garlic started to brown, I added 2 cups of chicken broth, 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream, 1/4 tsp of dried basil, 1 tsp of Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to taste, 8oz of fettuccine noodles (broken in half), and a good amount of bacon.

I brought all of that to a boil and covered it and turned it down to a simmer for about 15 minutes. Once the noodles were cooked, I added 1 1/2 cups of parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup of mozzarella, and two cups of steamed broccoli.

That's it! Super easy!

Our sides were cornbread and peaches.

After dinner we made our absolute favorite drink! It's a drink that we heard about, but Daniel took it and made it our own. It is SO delicious! We try and have it once a week because it is a great vitamin c booster!

I took a picture of the little juicer Daniel uses to make it, but I couldn't get a picture of the juice before we drank it all. I'll try again next week!

Anyway, he takes 1 grapefruit, 2 oranges, and 1 lemon. He juices it all together and then pores it into a big pitcher. To that he adds 2 cups of water, a handful of ice, and three large spoonfuls of sugar. This is seriously the best drink ever. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Happy Eating!
